Release notes
This is the 3rd Purple label pressing from 1980. (Originally released 26-DEC-65)
Variations for the purple label:
#1-Purple label with large Capitol logo, has the Capitol script-font logo in the perimeter print: 1977
#2-Purple label with large Capitol logo, has a softer purple background with no Capitol logo in the perimeter print. The perimeter print states "Manufactured in Canada By Capitol Records", 1978
#3-Purple label similar to #2, but has "Manufactured and Distributed in Canada UNDER LICENSE by Capitol Records-EMI...." in perimeter text. 1980
#4- Purple label similar to #2 except that this version's matrix runout has MASTERED BY CAPITOL followed by the Capitol 'target' logo in the deadwax. It also does not state "Distributed by" anywhere on this version. On spine: "ER Printed in Canada STEREOPHONIC" followed by the Capitol scripted logo.
Also issued on the Black rainbow/colorband design in 1983.
Has "Printed in Canada" with ER (Ever Reddy) printer logo on spine.
Manufactured and distributed in Canada under license by Capitol Records-EMI Of Canada Limited
For the 1978 purple label variation: [r4028650]
The runouts are etched, except "MASTERED BY CAPITOL" and "◎" [Capitol target logo] are stamped.
Record grading guide
Every record is graded visually (and play-tested when in doubt) using the Goldmine standard — the same scale used by Discogs sellers worldwide. Media and sleeve are always graded separately.
| M | Mint — perfect, usually still sealed. We use this grade very rarely. |
|---|---|
| NM | Near Mint — looks barely played. No visible marks, plays clean. |
| VG+ | Very Good Plus — light signs of use, minor sleeve wear. Plays great; our most common grade. |
| VG | Very Good — visible wear, may have light surface noise that doesn't overpower the music. |
| G+ / G | Good — plays through without skipping but with noticeable noise. Priced accordingly. |
| F / P | Fair / Poor — filler or collector copies only. Always described in the notes. |
Anything worth mentioning that the grade doesn't capture is in the seller notes on each listing.
