Famicom Games (Japan)

Original Japanese Famicom games, boxed and loose. Plenty of the Famicom library never left Japan, and many of the games that did were renamed or changed on the way. Box, manual and cartridge condition is listed separately for every copy, and every listing shows the actual item.

Compatibility: Famicom cartridges have 60 pins and fit a Japanese Famicom, AV Famicom or a Famicom-compatible clone. On a NES you need a 60-to-72-pin adapter, and games with extra sound chips lose that audio through it.

Buying Japanese games

Japanese copies are often in better shape than European ones, they tend to cost less, and a lot of great games only ever came out in Japan. A few things are worth knowing before you buy.

Will Japanese games work on my European console?

It depends on the console. Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS and PSP games are region free and work anywhere. Most home consoles are region locked, so you need a Japanese console, a converter or a modded machine. Every game page has a short note on what that particular system needs.

What does complete in box (CIB) mean?

The game comes with its original box and manual. If extras like a spine card, registration card or map are included, they are listed separately on the product page.

How do you grade condition?

Box, manual and cartridge or disc each get their own grade, from Mint down to Poor. The photos show the copy you get, not a stock image, and any flaw worth mentioning is written in the description.

Do I need to read Japanese to play?

Not for action games, shooters, platformers or most sports and racing games. RPGs and adventure games are text heavy, so check whether an English release or a fan translation exists if that matters to you.

Can I combine games and records in one order?

Yes. Everything ships from Sweden in one parcel, and shipping is worked out on the total weight.

Do you buy Japanese games?

Yes, both single games and whole collections. Get in touch through the sell page with a list or a few photos.
